Frederic Brunet won the European Deepstack Championship. At the tournament, which took place at the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel in Dublin, competed 465 players.
The huge starting stacks of 50,000 chips attracted experienced poker players from all over Europe. Two thirds of the field came from France, Switzerland or Belgium.
After great efforts Brunet reached the final table. Here he faced poker pros like Jason Tompkins and former champion Dara O’Kearney. Brunet played with a lot of skill and confidence against his opponents and in the end he emerged victorious in the tournament. Brunet, for the good performance, got a big prize of €51,000.
For the next year the organizers have big plans. They hope to expand the event by taking the capacity up to 1,500 runners with two opening days and a four-day structure.
